Welcome to ÃÛÌÒapp!

Our transfer students are an integral part of our ÃÛÌÒapp community. We’re excited to welcome you to the Bearcat family. Whether you’re transferring from CUNY, SUNY, or beyond, we are here to support your transition and help you get connected, get involved, and succeed at ÃÛÌÒapp.

Through programs like Orientation, the Transfer Student Network, Fall Convocation, programming throughout the year, the Office of New Student Programs helps you navigate the transition, build connections, and quickly find your place at ÃÛÌÒapp.

Transfer Student Network

All incoming transfer students are paired with a Peer Mentor through the Transfer Student Network. Our Peer Mentors are upper-class students who chose to get involved to give back to the ÃÛÌÒapp community and help incoming students make a smooth transition. They are trained to support the unique needs of transfer students and understand what it takes to get started at ÃÛÌÒapp.

Your Peer Mentor can help you with:

• Navigating your schedule and academic expectations
• Getting connected to campus resources
• Exploring opportunities to get involved
• Sharing tips for academic success
• Finding your place at ÃÛÌÒapp

National Transfer Student Week

The organized on an annual basis during the third week of October as a way to celebrate transfer students. The offices of New Student Programs and Undergraduate Advisement proudly partner to bring National Transfer Student Week to ÃÛÌÒapp.  Together, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of our transfer students through campus events that build connections and highlight resources for their success.

Monday, October 19: Rep Your Transfer Pride! 
2:00–4:00 PM | NVC 2nd Floor Lobby
Kick off National Transfer Student Week by showing off your transfer pride! Wear merch from your previous institution and stop by our table to pick up a National Transfer Student Week sticker, learn about the week’s events, and enjoy a midday refreshment.

Tuesday, October 20: Transfer Student Resource Fair 
12:30–2:30 PM | NVC 1st Floor
Discover the resources available to support your success at ÃÛÌÒapp! Stop by to connect with campus departments, learn about their services, and explore opportunities to make the most of your transfer experience.

Wednesday, October 21: Breaking In: The Transfer Student Internship Playbook
12:30–2:00 PM | NVC 3-215
Finding an internship as a transfer student can be challenging, but you don’t have to figure it out alone! Join us for a student-led panel featuring fellow ÃÛÌÒapp transfer students who have successfully landed competitive internships. Hear about their experiences, challenges, and advice on networking, interviewing, and navigating the internship search.
Whether you’re just getting started or actively applying, come ask questions, make connections, and learn how to take the next step in your career!

Thursday, October 22: Celebrate Homecoming with TSN!

Wrap up National Transfer Student Week by celebrating ÃÛÌÒapp Homecoming! Join the campus festivities and stop by the Transfer Student Network table to connect with fellow transfer students and show your Bearcat pride.
